BMW Launches Z4M

October 26th, 2005

BMW Z4MBMW has announced the specification for the long-awaited Z4M.

The new model takes the 343 bhp engine from the outgoing M3, which provides zero to 62mph acceleration of 5.0 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 155mph. It also has unique steering (hydraulic rather than the standard car’s electro-mechanical) and conventional tyres rather than run flats. These are intriguing developments as road testers have criticised both features of the standard car – it seems BMW Motorsport agrees.

At the same time, the standard car is being given a very mild facelift and a new 3.0 engine producing 265 bhp, badged si. There are also two modified versions of the 2.5 litre engine: the 2.5 si produces 218 bhp and the 2.5 i produces 177 bhp.

Dodge Dakota Intake System now Available

October 26th, 2005

K&N Dodge DakotaK&N has just made available the 63 series AirCharger kit for 4.7L 2005 Dodge Dakota Part# 63-1546). 63 Series Intake Kits or AirCharger Intakes are built for many different vehicles and represent a dramatic improvement over a K&N O/E replacement filter alone. These intakes use only non-metallic rotationally molded tubes that can reduce intake air temperature and decrease intake sound over a metal tube. Restriction can exist BETWEEN an air filter and the engine reducing the benefit of a K&N Air Filter. The weakest link in the airflow “chain” robs a vehicle of its natural horsepower. Often that weak point is the factory air path leading to the Engine. K&N Air Intake Kits virtually eliminate air path restriction by replacing the air filter and the entire air path to the engine. The aerodynamically engineered tube drives a massive amount of air into an engine, which translates into POWER. 63 Series Intake Kits are not legal for street use in some U.S. states.
